A girl is a gun es una muestra realizada a partir de la película de Film ist, A GIRL & A GUN de Gustav Deutsch, un film que se compone en cinco actos y que toma uno de los temas más antiguos del cine y la humanidad: la batalla de sexos. Desde el nacimiento del mundo, el enfrentamiento de los dioses y la coexistencia entre el hombre y la mujer en el Paraíso. En el caso de A girl is a gun además de utilizar como punto de partida Film ist lo pone en relación con la performance que realizó Faith Wilding en el año 1972 en la Womanhouse, un espacio organizado por Judy Chicago.

In an exercise from the postgraduate course in audiovisual editing, we were asked to make a sequence using some of the video footage. The director, Luis Qulez Sala, is the rightful owner of the pictures. Ejercicio realizado durante el postgrado de Montaje Audiovisual donde se nos proponía realizar una secuencia a partir de parte del material de rodaje. The abundance of information surrounding the virus, the pandemic, the masks, the numbers, etc. during the confinement in March 2020 prompted me to create a montage using those few images, which I never got tired of looking at and which somehow inspired me to reconsider the reality that we were living. El exceso de información durante el confinamiento entorno al virus, la pandemia, las mascarillas, las cifras...etc en marzo del 2020 me llevó a desarrollar un montaje con aquellas pocas imágenes que no me cansaba de mirar y que de algún modo me ayudaban a pensar distinto aquella realidad que vivíamos.

The confinement. The restriction. What if they told us we couldn't leave the house for a month? How would we pass the time then? We unknowingly develop our own daily rituals as the months and years pass. a restriction we put ourselves in. While the direction of the story is being revealed by the flow of the found photos, we yearn for escape. El encierro. ¿Qué sucedería si nos dijeran que durante un mes no podemos salir de casa? ¿Cómo ocuparíamos ese tiempo? Después del pasar de los meses y los años creamos nuestros propios rituales diarios sin ni siquiera darnos cuenta. Un encierro que creamos nosotras mismas. Anhelar un escape mientras el discurrir de las imágenes encontradas nos narran hacia dónde van las historias.

Inferno 2.0 is an allusion to desire, specifically the desire to look and to be looked at. Written in the water (2020) is the audiovisual piece postgraduate course's concluding work. I developed a fiction in which memory and daily rituals go hand in hand in the succession of pictures that produce meaning, one in relation to the next, using discovered foutage and images by Gunvor Nelson Redshift.

What year did Lorca die? A tale based on data learned during the postdegree in audiovisual editing at Pompeu Fabra University would eventually start with this question and progress from there. Written in the water is the result of a game I made from things I found. ¿Cuándo murió Lorca? Esta pregunta es el punto de partida y con el tiempo devendría una historia narrada a partir de material encontrado durante el transcurso de este curso en Montaje Audiovisual en la Universidad Pompeu Fabra. Escrito en el agua es un devenir, el montar es un juego que me permitió descubrir a partir de las imágenes y los sonidos la historia que necesitaba contar. La memoria, cómo recordamos y qué papel tiene la imaginación.

La confesión es una pieza de lo más inquietante gracias, en parte, a la voz de Mel Gibson en The Patriot (2000) y que nos acompaña en el recorrido de este video. Las imágenes son de archivo y libres de autoría y son las que nos permiten imaginar otra historia de nuevo pero con una voz en off que nos resulta familiar y, al mismo tiempo, se convierte se transforma y resulta distinto. The confession is a very unsettling work made more so by Mel Gibson's voice from the 2000 film The Patriot, which speaks to us throughout this video. This film blurs the lines between reality and fiction; many of the images are personal, but the editing and voice-off setting allow for the creation of fiction. I was able to envision every first-time story from the ADN tests my family gave me, such as the first time I went to the movies or the first time I visited the beach. In addition, the assembly allows me to improvise and add ideas that come to me along the way. This is similar to how it is when using a mobile device to consult. Este es un video que se sitúa entre la realidad y la ficción; muchas de las imágenes son personales pero el montaje junto con la voz en off me permite crear una ficción. A partir de las pruebas de ADN que mi familia me regaló pude imaginar toda una historia que recorre las primeras veces, como la primera vez que fui al cine o la primera vez que fui a la playa. Al mismo tiempo el montaje me permite incorporar parte del proceso de éste como lo es al consultar en el móvil, improvisar y añadir ideas que suceden por el camino.
